GHP
The goal of the project was to create an inspiring addition to the history school built in mid 1960's historic building. The design served to create transparency and inclusiveness with it spans of glass for to encompass the newly enclosed courtyard and frame specific view on others. The infusing of color glass is intended to symbolize community of all nationalities.
The large sloping roofs presents a contrast to the existing historic building creating a open space with movement to incorporate exterior spaces for its multi-purpose function for students, faculty and parents that extends to create an outdoor cover space a well.
The renovation created a few necessities to the school by creating ADA entry with the new cafeteria space as well as repurposing the old food service with much needed gym space support.
This project intends to **design for integration** not it’s architectural context, but yet its social integration and the connection with people.
**Designing for Discover:** The intention of play on light with a spectrum of colors was intended to engage it users to create a sense engagement to would create a social feeling.
Overall, this addition represented **design for change** with a direct contrast to it 1960’s existing structure provide a movement flexibility and future evolution in education.
